Aldo Parrotta Ward 2
Welland City Council · Ward 2 · Municipal Election

Working with you in Ward Two.

A respectful, proactive approach to serving our growing community. Listen. Act. Collaborate.

Aldo Parrotta — Ward 2 Candidate, Welland

Welcome to Ward 2.

As a lifelong resident and property tax-payer in Welland, I share the same everyday challenges you do. I love our city, but I know that with the heavy growth our neighbourhoods are facing, we can do better collectively.

For over 10 years, I have volunteered on six of our municipal advisory committees — including Seniors, Heritage, Town and Gown, Arts and Culture, Accessibility, and the former Transit committee.

I am stepping forward to run for city council because I have done my homework and am ready to move from advising on policy to constructively changing policy on the inside.

My approach is simple, positive and practical: Listen, Act, and Collaborate. I am here to ensure your voice is genuinely heard at city hall, and that growth finally pays for the infrastructure in our ward and our city.

Compassion & Community Safety

Compassion, Accountability & Community Safety

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Residents also deserve to feel safe in their neighbourhoods, parks, downtown, local businesses, while waiting for public transit, riding the bus, and enjoying public spaces without feeling intimidated or unsafe.

These goals are not in conflict.

The City of Welland cannot solve homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges alone. However, it can play a stronger leadership role by working with Niagara Region, healthcare providers, police, outreach organizations, businesses, and community partners to move beyond simply managing these challenges toward reducing them.

My Commitment

  • Advocate for coordinated solutions that help people move toward stable housing, addiction treatment, mental health supports, employment, and long-term independence.
  • Support stronger partnerships between the City of Welland, Niagara Region, healthcare providers, police, outreach organizations, and community agencies.
  • Encourage solutions that provide a hand up through coordinated supports while recognizing the important role emergency assistance and community organizations play in helping people through immediate crises.
  • Support clean, safe, and welcoming parks, sidewalks, neighbourhoods, transit areas, business districts, and other public spaces for everyone.
  • Promote respectful use of public spaces while ensuring compassionate outreach remains available for those who need it.
  • Support measuring success by meaningful outcomes, including fewer encampments, fewer repeat crises, stronger connections to housing and treatment, and safer public spaces for residents, visitors, and businesses.

Helping people and protecting our community should always go hand in hand.
